We recently did a video interview with Ken Groves, long time resident of Titchfield and member of the Titchfield History Society.
Ken lives in a property very close to Titchfield Abbey and while he was renovating the cottage discovered that it was much older than he had previously thought.
In this video Ken explains what he found during the renovations, what his research into old documents and records has shown and how the discovery of it being the Old Grammar School has highlighted possible links to Shakespeare and his ‘lost years‘.
The school would have been established as a monastic school run by the Premonstratensian (known as the White Canons) when they were at Titchfield Abbey.
A few years ago members of their order visited the Abbey and the Old Grammar School.
