As the tapestry is no longer on public display we have created a virtual exhibition using images of each panel kindly supplied by Bristol City Museum.
Each panel is listed below by year. The left hand image of the panel is static and has a magnifying glass feature that can be used to look at the panel and stitching in more detail. When you roll your cursor over the image the magnifier is activated automatically. You control its position by using your cursor.
The right hand image is a video that is narrated by Tom Mor who designed all the panels over a 20 year period. The video follows Tom’s narration as he talks about a number of the features and areas. You click the play button to watch the video. The video image size can be increased by clicking on the screen size option on the right hand side of the menu bar (see image below).
If you prefer you can select the ‘play all’ panel option and you will be able to watch each video in turn from 1583 to 1642.
Please note: This is virtual exhibition that is work-in-progress. As soon as we receive an image of a panel from Bristol City Museum we get Tom to record his narration, edit them together and add it to the virtual collection. We hope to complete the project by early October 2017.
The tapestry is now owned by Bristol City Museum but Tom Mor has retained copyright to the images.
