The day started with an 8.30am shoot on Butser Hill. We had chosen this time as the winds are usually lighter earlier and later in the day. It was a lovely sunny morning with little wind. We captured some lovely shots in a high rise and 360 degree slow pan.
Next we went to the Sustainability Centre where we captured footage of the camping site (and campers – who wanted to learn what we were doing) plus their pre-erected tipis and yurts and solar powered showers. We also captured their woodland based classroom.
The next location shoot was at St Peter and St Paul Church in Exton.
The next shoot was at St Mary and All Saints Church at Droxford.
The final shoot of the day was at Titchfield Haven, which is the opposite end of the Meon Valley to Butser Hill. Here we shot where the River Meon’s damming and silting has resulted in large areas of wetlands. We had to shoot in a restricted fly zone due to the nesting birds. We shot from the Water Meadows on the west bank. We had chosen the end of the day for this shoot as we expected any wind to have reduced. It was however very windy which made flying a challenge. We were had to be flexible in what we managed to get. We got some great shots but we could not do everything we planned.
Tomorrow is the final (3rd) day of shooting in a further six locations.
Then we start the post-production process of editing and adding music and voice-over. That should keep us busy for a while!
