Focus worked with V-Ticket Rail to produce a promotional video that captures examples of how their online purpose built ticketing and booking system can benefit organisations in the Heritage Railways industry.
V-Ticket Rail are a UK’s supplier of website, ticketing and booking systems for heritage railways. Established in 2007 it has grown to offer a powerful and flexible system enabling their clients to offer highly engaging customer experiences so maximising revenues. These revenues are critical to help finance their railway running costs, maintenance and restoration programs.
V-Ticket Rail approached us to create a video that captured examples of how their system works and how important their experience and attention to detail is to their clients when designing and deploying a solution.
We met the client to understand their product and their service fully. We also wanted to understand how they market their product and discuss how they would use the video to improve enquiries and sales. We then spoke to some of V-Ticket Rail’s clients directly to get their insight into why they chose the product and what their experience was of working on the design and deployment of the solution.
Being such a powerful and flexible system it was a impossible to capture everything in a single customer video shoot so we agreed to do four. Each involved detailed planning with V-Ticket Rail and the heritage railways themselves. As we would be shooting on working days care had to be taken not to disrupt the heritage railway customers and keep them safe but also allow us to capture trains in action. As we were shooting in England the weather would of course play a part so careful planning and contingency options were needed. A location shoot means a lot of logistics management of getting the people and kit (and all the spare batteries and data cards) in the right place at the right time.
Thanks to the planning and support by the Heritage Railways and the client every shoot went well. Even the weather. We were made most welcome and were able to capture a lot of extra unplanned shots of restoration work and engine movements. V-Ticket Rail was happy to allow the heritage railways themselves to make use of many of the shots in their own marketing campaigns.
The edited video can be seen on the V-Ticket Rail website.
“We contacted Focus after seeing a random flyer and I initially had reservations because with video marketing we had no experience. Very quickly though Focus instilled confidence that not only would the project run smoothly, but that we didn’t need to brace ourselves for an enormous bill for work not catered for in the original estimate. Once we had a structure, Focus dealt directly with our clients to arrange site visits and I heard nothing but positive comments from the people they worked with on site.
We ended up with exactly what we wanted and I would recommend Focus to anyone looking at this medium for marketing.”
