Filming at Fort Purbrook – Business Networking
What a fun event to be involved in and a great location!
Simon, a colleague of mine at Focus, and I recently visited the Peter Ashley Activity Centre based at Fort Purbrook in Portsmouth. The event was jointly organised by the Hampshire and Chichester Chambers of Commerce and hosted by the Activity Centre.
These type of events are a great way for Chamber members to meet, network and socialise and for the host to showcase their organisation and offering.
We were asked by the Chamber to produce a promotional video so members have a better understanding of what happens at this type of event.
Prior to the event, as part of our planning for the shoot we had spoken to the Chamber and Peter Ashley Activity Centre to find out more information about the day, about the site layout and all the activities attendees would be participating in. We also needed to discuss and confirm health and safety management on site generally and also during the shoot.
We arrived early so we had time to do a full site survey and also plan the best places to do all the shots we planned. It also gave us time to set-up and fly the UAV Mavic 2 Pro. This has a 1” sensor and really packs a punch for the size of the drone. (Note: The UAV flight was not commissioned to produce content for the shoot. The purpose was to build flight time towards the PFCO – Permission for Commercial Operations licence requirements. The footage was available to the parties for free.)
After a site survey and short flight the real work could begin – we put up our lights, mics and all the other things we need on these type of shoot (we like to think of this as just as good as exercising in the gym) and began shooting ……guns!
That’s right! We filmed members networking in the shooting range and also perfecting their skills with a bow and arrow at with archery. We also filmed members practising their skills at climbing…
Simon and I took also took part in some of the activities and really enjoyed ourselves.
All the members attending had the opportunity to see what is involved in shooting such a video.
We also interviewed a number of people so they could explain about the day and its value to Chichester and Hampshire Chambers of Commerce & Industry and to businesses themselves.
