A few years ago Focus produced a marketing video for Beechdown Health & Fitness to promote the full range of facilities at the club in Basingstoke. In lockdown it was updated to include the health and safety measures implemented for in relation to government guidelines for Covid 19.
Beechdown Health & Fitness Club is one of Southern England’s leading Health and Fitness Clubs and are based in Basingstoke.
Established in 1992, Beechdown offers a wide range of health and fitness facilities and classes for individual, family and corporate members. It has a popular spa centre, restaurant and café and in recent years has expanded its outdoor leisure facilities to include not only all-weather football and tennis courts but also an al fresco gym and astroturf studio.
A few years ago we worked with them to produce a marketing video that highlighted the full range of facilities. Following the Government introduction of Covid-19 restrictions in the Summer of 2020 Beechdown invested heavily in safe-distancing wall and floor signage, workout station screens and sanitisation stations. All classes were similarly adapted with increased usage of outside facilities. To support this investment we were asked to create a video to showcase what measures had been taken.
Due to the situation a very tight timeline was set where everything from initial site visit and planning, to shooting (following Covid-19 distancing protocols) and editing had to be done within a week.
We met the schedule and the team at Beechdown were able to use the video to engage with their customers in an effective way.
As a result of the latest restrictions sadly Beechdown like all other sports and leisure facilities in England has had to close until further notice.
As with previous closures Beechdown have extended all annual memberships by the same period as they are in lock-down and monthly membership fees are not being charged. In addition as a service to their members and the wider community generally Beechdown have introduced a range of free live home workouts via their Facebook page. These have proved very popular until such time as the facilities can re-open.
