Over the last few years we have seen a massive increase in the volume of video being consumed.
A lot of this is due to the increased penetration of smartphones and peoples use of them at all times of day.
Since 2015 the daily usage and overall penetration of smartphones has increased even more.
2018 – latest research
Ofcoms latest annual report published in August 2018 showed that 42% of people stated that their smartphone was now their ‘most important device’ for accessing the internet. In 2013 this figure was 15% – an increase of almost 300% in 3 years.
This increase in the use of smartphones has without doubt helped to drive the growth of video consumption. Today YouTube is now second only to Google as the largest search engine.
To help organisations take maximum advantage of the growing importance of video we have been running training courses and events with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce for a few years now.
During the training sessions we share our experience of helping organisations around the world get the best value from using video effectively. We cover details of what content is the most popular with viewers, how to develop a video marketing strategy covering all aspects of the customer life cycle from awareness to repeat purchase and how to produce good quality video in-house using a smartphone.
Details of the course can be found on the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce web site here.
Courses can be run on-demand within organisations that want their teams trained on developing and deploying a video communications strategy.
We also run regular training courses on creating and editing video in-house to ensure content is produced for social media and as part of a ‘keeping in touch’ program.
