Brendoncare Filming-The Big Event

As part of our recent conferencing schedule, we recently supported White Communications with one of their clients Brendoncare, the charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people.

We filmed ‘The Big Event’ event and will soon be editing footage to make a variety of videos to capture the event for their website.

Think! First

‘Think! FIRST’ is one of a series of twelve short training films designed to encourage crew to think about their own safety while they’re going about their work. Each scenario looks at a specific task or risk area and our trainer goes through the most basic precautions necessary to prevent an injury or accident.

Presented by a Trainer (actor Brian Bowles), the presentation is kept deliberately brief as an aid to memorising three key safety points. The film can be used as a standalone training aid or as a discussion starter for a training session with the onboard Safety Officer, where the subject can be covered in more detail.  Each film has 3-4 memorable learning points.

Production of these short films took the Focus crew on location in Liverpool and aboard ships crossing the Irish Sea.

CASEBOOK: One man with a Passion

Our challenge this time was to help one guy with a real Passion to start building support for an event that he hopes will take the City of Southampton by storm in 2011.

Into our in-house studio came Neil Maddock, pioneer of Passion 2011 in Southampton.  Using some tricks of television we filmed Neil in the studio as he very skilfully presented his case.  It’s a great talent for Neil to make it look this easy – not many people could sit in front of a camera and be this convincing.

Over the next couple of days Ian Williamson, who’s become a master of special effects, edited the sequence that would promote the Passion and get people involved ready for Good Friday 2011.

Neil will be sending DVDs to churches and organisations across Southampton to promote the event and seek volunteers to get involved.

Nice job to do and a great project.  Well done Neil.  (Oh … and well done Ian!!)
