Mobile ‘apps’ usage

The rise of the smartphone has seen a rapid rise in the use of Applications on them. 

A recent report by Pew as part of their contuing series into Internet Usage found that 43% of mobile phone users had ‘apps’ on their phone but only 2/3rds used them.

With 82% of the population having mobile phones and most new handsets being smartphones both the number with ‘apps’ and peoples use of them will grow.

As part of the research the uses of the apps was looked at.

As can be seen from the above social media is a popular application and over 1/5th are using it for video consumption.
