Dear Media colleagues,

The European Food Information Council (EUFIC) has been working in the field of consumer research for several years and has had a particular focus on the use of nutrition information on food product labels.

As part of its commitment to the EU Platform for Action on Diet, Physical Activity & Health, EUFIC, together with Professor Klaus Grunert is conducting a pan-European study on understanding and use of nutrition information on food labels and nutrition knowledge.

Dr. Josephine Wills, EUFIC's Director General and Professor Klaus Grunert, Aarhus School of Business, Denmark, will share the results of the European market study via a webinar. We hope you will be able to join us.

European Consumers' Nutrition Knowledge

How much do European consumers know about nutrition? What impact does this level of knowledge have on their use of nutrition information on food products? What is well understood and which areas need further explanation from a public health perspective?

European consumer research results on in-store behaviour, understanding and use of nutrition information on food labels

Do European consumers do what they say they do when it comes to reading and understanding nutrition information on packs? How informative are the different European labelling systems? What effect might labelling have on product choice?
