Nicky Anderson
Team Administrator Nicky has worked as PA to the Director of Programming at Meridian Broadcasting in Southampton. With the development team she compiled tenders for new programming to the ITV network and to Channel 5 and Sky. She was also responsible for monitoring and compliance procedures. She has worked for Consolidated Press in Hong Kong, for Arab Banking Corporation in Bahrain, and for a newspaper in South Africa.

Nicky has been at the centre of our production and administration at Focus for over four years.

Janita Hendricks

Archive and Database Administrator

Janita trained in Graphic Design and Administration. She has worked in a sales and export office, the voluntary sector (SVS) and was a core member of staff at the outset of SCA Community Care Services (SCA Group). She was PA to the Principal Educational Psychologist at Southampton City Council.

Janita currently looks after our Format Transfers and DVD Duplication, as well as maintaining our extensive archive library. She has been central to our work in transferring the entire MCA archive to DVD.

Andrew Goode
Cameraman and Producer

Andy has worked as a cameraman for Focus and other production companies, and has also directed and produced for many Focus clients, especially VT Shipbuilding for about twenty years, covering every launch from the Woolston yard and several roll-outs in Portsmouth.
He recently coordinated five camera teams and a total of eleven cameras for Focus during a major exercise we covered for the UK Health Protection Agency involving all three emergency services and totaling 650 personnel.
Andy produced ‘Wet Water Wizard’ for Severn Trent Water, which features the voice of Richard Briers, and won a silver prize in the Education Category of the 2006 IVCA Awards.

Commission, the UK MOD, Shipbuilding firms and two major Water Utility Companies. These include a 3D animated film

with Richard Briers, which won a silver prize in the Education Category of the 2006 IVCA Awards.

I have also made several small sell through DVDs on subjects such as the Brecon Beacons National Park, Badger Watching

and the Reservoirs of the Elan Valley in mid Wales.

Having edited a lot of my own footage I pride myself on being able to provide Producers and Directors with constructive

suggestions to improve footage and sequences.

Recent highlights include three four minute packages for BBC1’s The One Show.

I also recently coordinated five camera teams, two locked off cameras and four CCTV cameras, on a major exercise

involving all three emergency services and totaling 450 personnel.

Stuart Robinson
Avid Editor

Stuart has worked with is in editing a number of productions at Focus:
For MCA – ‘Coastguard Operations’ – MRCCs and their functions
MCA Video News Podcast – several editions including the opening sequence
‘Elan Valley’ – 45 minute film celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Dams and Reservoirs of the Elan Valley in Mid Wales
‘Wild Watch in Powys’ – 30 minute tour around the county of Powys and the animals, birds, insects and plants to be found there.
‘Brecon Beacons National Park’ – 1 hour documentary on the Park, it’s landscapes, history, wildlife and people.
‘CSD Sealing Systems’ – 15 minute industrial promotional film.

Ian Higginson
Avid Editor

Ian has worked with us to edit several major items.

Health Protection Agency – Operation ‘Orpheus I’ and ‘Orpheus II’, two parts of a major exercise carried out to test the readiness of UK Emergency Services for major incidents. Ian had material from thirteen cameras to edit.

Ian also worked with us on ‘UK Ship Register’, a video piece for the shipping industry to promote the British Flag.

Clare Carson Broadcaster, Voiceover

Clare Carson is an accomplished journalist who combines an excellent presenting ability with sound news sense and strong interviewing skills. She has worked as a newsreader, presenting peaktime bulletins for GMTV and ITV Meridian. Her other television credits include SkyTV and BBC South. Clare has co-hosted rolling news programmes for and In The News for Radio Five Live, and as Head of News at Classic FM she presented the flagship daily news programme Classic Newsnight. She also presented and reported for networked peak-time news for Independent Radio News. She was News Editor for the launch of Lincs FM, a Senior Journalist for Ocean Sound Radio and BBC Radio Lincolnshire. She set up and managed SouthCity FM in Southampton. She has provided numerous voice-overs for Focus, as well as in-vision presentation. She lives near Winchester.

Richard Vaughan
Broadcaster

Richard has a great ‘action’ voice and uses it creatively in broadcast sports promotions and documentaries. He has worked as a journalist in Southampton for BBC South Today, for NBC Super Channel, and he now works for Eurosport based in Paris.
Richard has provided numerous voiceovers for Focus including the MCA Video News Podcasts.

Hugh Kirby
Broadcaster, Presenter

Hugh has presented programmes for us including ‘Lifeboat Drills – Preparing for Safety’ for Walport Training, ‘Coastguard Operations’ for the UK MCA.
