Why?

First because we understand video on the web. We know how to encode it for your site,  your downloads, your email campaign, or any other use.

Second because it’s really easier for us to take material we’ve produced for you, or your existing material which we’ve re-purposed for you, then encode it, upload it and provide links to it for your clients and colleagues.

Thirdly because we can handle up to 20,000 (ish!) people viewing a file at the same time!  That’s not just due to the specification of the server itself but of the ‘fat’ fibre connection in London which links it to the internet.  Not all hosting companies can handle the high data rates that media files require.

And finally we arrange ‘private’ passworded client pages where they can share their material around the world.  We also provide ftp areas.  These pages carry links to clients’ files.

What do you get?

Web hosting companies normally charge extra for data traffic.  We don’t.  Apart from relieving you of all the technical hassle of encoding and uploading material, we give you regular information about file statistics – how many people have viewed each file, when and approximately where they are. (We can’t tell you exactly who has viewed them though!)  That means you can monitor your email campaigns, and put a per capita value on your media spend.  Right away.  You can’t do that with print media!

How much?

We charge an agreed fee each month for each GB of file space you use.  That means you can budget for your web traffic and work out how much every viewer has cost.  We find video files cost our clients on average less than £0.04 per viewer.
