Meet the team at Focus that bring a wide range of communications experience and technical skills to client projects.

Adrian Moss – Founder and Managing Director

Adrian has over 35 years experience in marketing and employee communications and commissioned his first video in 1979.  Prior to co-founding Focus in 2004 he was on the Board of a number of UK and European organisations and was a technology consultant to a number of marketing agencies and FTSE250 organisations. He co-founded Focus specifically to help clients take advantage of online audio and video content and the use of social media to help engage and retain audiences.  From 2010 – 2013 Adrian worked on an EC funded pan-European research project ( looking at the public’s use of Social Media during a crisis in the food industry.
Ian Williamson – Studio Manager

Ian has over 20 years experience of producing audio and video content and manages the studio.  Since joining us in 2005 he has taken a leading role in developing our podcast, live webinar and online video and audio services.   Ian was the driving force in helping us move to a fully digital studio and upgrade all our cameras, edit workstations and software to support the latest 4k image standard.  He also managed our move to new studios in 2013.  Ian also runs our IT and network services and has installed and supported computer systems for a number of clients.
Paul Phillips – Video Editor/Sound Engineer

Paul trained in Music Recording and Production and spent 8 years creating and editing audio content produced in studios and at live events.  Since joining us 18 months ago he has expanded his skills to include audio recording during video shoots and video editing.  He has worked on a wide range of projects for us including managing the editing and post-production of our ‘Out & About’ audio and video podcast channel.
Sam Knibbs – Marketing

Sam is the latest addition to the Focus team.  After completing a degree in Sports Journalism at Southampton Solent University, and a post-graduate qualification at the National Council for the Training of Journalists in 2013, he then worked in sales and freelancing for magazines and local newspapers.  Sam brings his knowledge of online communications, journalism and previous video experience to our own digital marketing and to our clients.
Ian Ward – Consultant / Voice-Over

Ian is a Sound Engineer by training and was a founder member of Ocean Sound – one of the UK’s first commercial radio stations.  Ian created Focus Television & Audio Production, an independent production and facilities business in 1979.  Ian was a co-founder with Adrian of Focus Business Communications in 2004.  He has now retired from active co-management of the business but remains as a Consultant helping us with technical projects and advice on our own studio facilities.  Ian is also a regular voice-over for a number of our clients.
Janita Hendricks – Project / Office Administrator

Janita joined us in 2005 and runs Administration as well as our format transfers, DVD duplication, and maintains our own extensive archive library (dates from 1979) and a number of our clients secure offsite archives.  Janita trained in Administration and Graphic Design.
We also have access to a great team of creative people who we work with
on a freelance basis in the production and post-production area.
Andrew Goode – Lighting / Camera Operator

Andy has over 30 years experience as a camera operator.  He has worked with Focus for over 20 years primarily on location shoots (in-door and out-door) where his knowledge and experience is invaluable. Andy is also an experienced editor, director and producer and has worked for many broadcasters including the BBC and C4.

Tom Paterson – Camera Operator

Tom has been a freelance Lighting-Cameraman since 1989 and has filmed for many TV programs and Documentary productions for all the major UK channels.  We have worked with Tom for a number of years and being based in Hexham, Nothumberland, he is our preferred choice for filming in the North of England

Mark Breakwell – CGI Animator / Motion graphics

Award winning CGI 3D animation, motion graphics, effects and Video specialist. With more than 20 years experience in the film and television industry he specialises in producing creative and destinctive content for a variety of areas.  We have worked with Mark for over 10 years.
Isabel Ewen – Camera Operator / Editor

Isabel is a video journalist by training and background but shoots everything from corporate events to music videos.  She is also an experienced editor.  Isabel has worked with us on a wide variety of location shoots in the UK and mainland Europe over the last 7 years.
Dave Tozer – Lighting / Sound

Dave brings over 25 years of technical expertise, working as a Lighting Director and Director of Photography, as well as a Sound Engineer.  With credits from most major broadcasters including BBC, ITV and Sky, he has gained a reputation for rigging, lighting and working in difficult situations including ships, aircraft and submarines.  We have worked with Dave for over 8 years.

Rob Lacey – Sound

Rob has worked on numerous broadcast and corporate projects all over the world involving all types of location shooting including multiple camera, documentary and drama shoots.  Rob has experience working on all sizes of productions and is equally at home up a mountain, with just him and the director, as he is working alongside a large drama crew.  We have worked with Rob for over 8 years.

Martin Davis – Photographer/Imaging Specialist

Martin is our Photographic, Multi-Media and Digital Imaging/Colour Correction specialist.  He has over 25 years imaging experience.  He is also an Adobe Photoshop tutor.  As an independent photo-journalist he provides reviews for local print and web media.  We have worked with Martin for over 10 years.

Clare Carson – Presenter / Voice-over

Clare is an accomplished journalist who has excellent presenting ability together with strong interviewing skills.  She has worked as a newsreader, presenting peak time bulletins for GMTV and ITV Meridian.  Her other television credits include SkyTV and BBC South. Clare has worked with us on a number of projects over the last 11 years.

Alina Jenkins – Presenter / Voice-over

Alina is an award winning presenter & broadcaster who has worked extensively across radio & television for the past 13 years.  Her career has progressed rapidly since joining Southampton Hospital Radio (HBA) as a volunteer in 2000.  She was picked as finalist in the BBC Talent Scheme and invited to join the team at BBC Radio Solent as a travel presenter.  Alina has worked with us for 8 years on a variety of projects.

Emily Steel – Voice Artist and Actress

Emily is an actress and Professional Voiceover Artist.  In terms of voiceovers, you’ll hear her on all kinds of TV & Radio Commercials, Radio Station Imaging, Web Videos, Phone Systems, Computer Games and Narrations.  Being an Actress, she brings another skill set to her voiceover work, providing natural sounding reads with emotion and character voices too.  She has worked with us on a number of voice-over projects for our clients over the last few years.

Dave is a versatile English voice-over.  Specialising in commercials, corporate, promos, narration, live announcing and imaging.  Dave has worked with us on a variety of voice-over projects over the last few years.

Brian Bowles – Presenter / Voice Actor

Brian has made a career from using his voice (initially as a singer and actor) and subsequently as a specialist in all areas of voice work for over 20 years.  He has also scripted and produced for the corporate sector as well as cast and directed voices.  Brian has provided both voice-overs and to-camera presentations for us over the last few years.

Hugh is an highly experienced and award winning TV and radio reporter, news presenter, and scriptwriter.  He also trains many organisations in media management skills.  Hugh has worked with us for over 8 years on a variety of projects and for a range of clients usually acting as presenter-interviewer.
