The MCA’s mission statement says its ‘vision is to be a world-class organisation that is committed to preventing loss of life, continuously improving maritime safety, and protecting the marine environment: Safer Lives, Safer Ships, Cleaner Seas.’

As well as the HQ in Southampton the agency has Coastguard Stations around the country providing advice, education and emergency support and services where required.

We have worked with them for a number of years. We have provided an interface to news organisations and media production companies wanting access to new and archive footage from rescue helicopters on missions and exercises. We have produced training and promotion videos for a number of their commercial services including Large Yacht Red Ensign flagging.

We have provided video coverage of special events involving HRH Prince Charles, Government Ministers, and special guests. We have produced educational and promotional materials to support the MCA’s presence at trade shows and maritime events around the world. We even helped them produce a monthly video podcasts to allow them to showcase their work and help maritime safety by linking to online video resources covering diverse subjects like life jackets and ‘tombstoning’.

I am writing to express our thanks for the work you and your team carried out on our behalf at the launch of the UK Fire and Rescue Services Maritime Incident Response Groups, which took place last week at the Dover Maritime Rescue Co-ordiation Centre.

As you are probably aware, this was a high profile event for the combined rescue services, but in particular for our Agency as host.  With the Secretary of State for Transport, several foreign dignitaries and the media attending, it was obviously important to us that the day ran smoothly and that visually the Agency was professionally represented.  This was definitely achieved through the combined efforts of all the organisations involved and we were delighted with the end result.  the feedback has been very positive, with excellent media coverage.
