Beaulieu hosts many events each year.
The weekend of 16th and 17th June 2018 saw our video crews filming on both days.
On Saturday it was SimplyVW and on Sunday it was Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day.
The edited video from each day will be used by them to promote future events and is also be a valuable archive asset for future generations to enjoy.
The Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day drew a crowd of 5,077 people – which was 24% up on 2017.
The total number of hot rods, custom cars and bikes was up by 31 per cent from last year, from 499 to 655. Besides all the amazing vehicles on show it also saw artist Andy Saunders officially launch Beaulieu’s summer exhibition – The Art of Kustom – by unveiling his latest creation – Metropolis. The car is a 1939 Peugeot 202 pick-up that was a rusty wreck in a field in France.

After 10 months of hard work by Andy and his fiancee Maxime Xavier, who designed and airbrushed the murals, this was the result.
The Motor Museum is hosting the exhibition that lasts until September. It contains a number of Andy’s creations from the last 40 years that are in private collections across Europe.
Lots of amazing cars had been brought in by their owners. This 1936 Auburn Speedster was one of many that caught our eye.
There were a number of awards for vehicles. The Best Custom Award went to Richard James from Stroud for his 1941 Ford.
The best custom bike award went to Dave Rogers from London. Dave had built a customised frame and a Harley Davidson 883 based engine to create a work of art as well as a practical bike that he had rode to the event on.
